On Friday, October 6, 2017 “Manufacturing Day,” Scheerer Bearing spent time teaching Machine Technology students from Bucks County Technical High School about bearing manufacturing and its career opportunities.
The plant tour took place in Willow Grove, PA and focused on the company’s process of producing high-quality, heavy-duty ball and roller bearings from as small as a 2″ bore to as large as a 100″ OD.

Peter Rymar, Scheerer Bearing Vice President/General Manager, summed up the event, “We chose to dedicate our Manufacturing Day celebration to students by sharing with them the rewarding careers that manufacturing offers both on the plant floor and in other departments. Building the successful future of American manufacturing is crucial, and it starts with manufacturers sharing what we do, how we do it, and how it positively impacts the American economy.”
The students learned about all aspects of Scheerer’s manufacturing process from raw materials to Engineering, Machining, Hard Turning, Grinding, Surface Finishes, and Bearing Retainer Production.
The tour concluded with seminars on the Assembly and Quality Control techniques that ensure that Scheerer Bearing products meet each customer’s requirements.
Scheerer Bearing is an independently-owned manufacturer of bearings and bearing products.
For almost fifty-five years the company has produced bearings used in numerous industrial applications including mining, aggregate, quarry, cement, steel mill, energy production, paper mill, and many more.
