SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant opens Safety Excellence Centre-The 20th China(Guangzhou) Int’l Forging Industry Exhibition

The Pioneer reported that Bhilai Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has set up a Safety Excellence Centre near the plant’s main gate to promote safety in backdrop of a deadly blast at its gas pipeline in October that had killed 13 workers. The "Safety Excellence Centre" named as "Suraksha Kavach" or Safety Shield was inaugurated by AK Rath, Chief Executive Officer of the plant.
At the start of the inaugural ceremony, Surendra Singh, General Manager (Safety and Fire Services) administered oath of safety to the participants. He informed that the visitors to the plant would be briefed on safety precautions to be followed at Suraksha Kavach.
Chief guest Rath while appreciating the efforts of the Safety Engineering Department, congratulated the entire team and said that new measures of protection should be included in our work in order to ensure the safety of personnel and to enhance their morale.
