It was reported that the US 232 tariff did not help to improve the dependence on imported steel for the US itself. Steel produced by US steelmakers was insufficient to meet its domestic demand, and more than one-fifth of the country''s steel needed to import through oversea.
Due to the tariff policy, US steel has become the most expensive steel in the world, which urged the revenue of certain US'' steel enterprises increased.
Inspired by the increase in revenue, the US'' steel enterprises have considered to enhance their steel and annual production capacity by 8.3 million tons in the next few years, with an increase in the US'' steel production capacity by 14%.
