Automotive Fastener: A New Upsurge and Model of Substituting Plastics for Steel-The17th China(Guangzhou)Int’l Fastener & Equipment Exhibition

It was learned that after the Eighteenth National Party Congress, the domestic market of automotive fastener, relying on some important industries like Automobile, Railway, Shipping, Aerospace, Infrastructure, Energy Industry, domestic market of Home Appliances and Information Industry, will have a new upsurge of obtaining technology innovation to promote the healthy development of fastener industry. Based on the statistics, the annually sales of China automotive industry will reach 23 million vehicles, requiring automotive fastener more than 1.5 million tons by the end of 2015.
Besides, Chinese government is going to build 56 airports during the year 2011 to 2015, as well as advancing the development plan of Airbus and Boeing. For it requires 400 thousand pieces fasteners on the skin of the fuselage and the wing for a dual channel aircraft. Substituting plastics for steel According to the statistics of fastener, a car contains nearly 5000 pieces of fasteners with 580 different sizes, while a medium-size truck contains about 5710 pieces with 570 different sizes. If every car substitutes a piece of plastic fastener for a hardware one, it will save weight by 8g.
Thus, if all by plastic fastener, the whole car will save half weight, as well as the fuel weight consuming by the car. Based on the import & export statistics of customs from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the export amount of car components is $64.617 billion in 2014, up 8.02% over the same period, which accounted for 76.64% of the total export amount of automotive products. It is an interesting fact that export of the whole vehicle only accounted for 15.23%, much lower than that of car components. China, during the process of making toward a world’s leading economic powerhouse, faces not only opportunities but numerous challenges, for which the export of China fastener products is the top priority of taking its place in the international market.
