Iran crude steel production in first month up by 15%-The 18th Guangzhou Die-casting, Foundry & Industry Furnace Exhibition

Iran Daily reported that Iranian steelmakers produced 1.734 million tonne of crude steel in a month to April 20 marking a 15% growth compared to the figure for the same month last year which was 1.507 million tonne. A report released by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization on Monday said that of this figure, the private sector produced 400,000 tonne during the period, according to imidro.gov.ir.
The report added that the country cast 1.567 million tonne of steel products including iron beams, steel coils, wide plates, round bars, cold-rolled plates and galvanized plates during the one-month period.
The IMIDRO report said that production of 578,000 tonne of steel products pertained to private steel mills.
IMIDRO said in another report that, major Iranian mining companies produced 2.98 million tonne of iron ore concentrates during the month, registering a 64% growth compared to the figure for the corresponding month last year.
Gol-e Gohar Mining and Industrial Company accounted for 1.05 million tonne of the overall figure. It was followed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company with 849,569 tonne, Iran Central Iron Ore Company with 405,262 tonne, Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company with 234,329 tonne, Gohar Zamin Company with 270,197 tonne and Opal Parsian Sangan with 176,549 tonne.
The rise in concentrate output is driven by the continuous growth of steel production capacity in the country, which demands higher volumes of raw material.
